I heard some people say @Baker93 had setup some kind of autorefresh for the server every two hours?
Though yes the pixelmon wiki details that the nether has zero pokemon aside from fire stone shards near the larba lake.

Its also possible all the pokemon that do not have fly/surf being mounted unmounted in succession is causing issues?

The Nether is one of the main causes of lag and crashes on Pixelmon.

And one way to get glowstone is to kill electric-type pokemon, such as Pikachu.
