I have done dis mathematical thing and needed to show off somewhere, so where better than the Off-Topic section of the forums of Blocktopia, huh?


Sorry for the crap quality, iPads do not have the best cameras (or at least mine doesn't.)

Basically, what it is for the uneducated/lazy/[insert other adjective to describe yourself if you don't understand it] person is an equation I voluntarily (yes, read out of my own leisure time) did to work out the z value using the substitution method for working out three unknowns in three questions if:

ax+by+cz=d
ex+fy+gz=h
ix+jy+kz=l

You can then substitute your worked-out z value into two of the equations and use simple elimination or substitution method for two unknowns to figure out x and y.

Absolutely no numbers are used in the equation, just pronumerals (algebra letters.)

15 next Sunday, Grade 11 by Australian standards (skipped a grade.)
Oh. Well, that explains why I don't get it. I'm 15 too, but here in Estonia we go to the ninth grade at that age. Or if you're nub then to eight.

Yeah, in my school we have three maths courses: Maths A, B and C. You have to do either A or B, but B is OP eligible. C is optional and super duper. What I wrote here we did in Maths C, and we're doing differentiation and limit theory etc. in B.

It's pretty cool, thank god for the shortcut where you just multiple the coefficient by the powers and take the powers each down one :3 makes deriving so much easier than using first principle (that f(x+h) thing)

Ahh yes the first principle method of differentiating can be grinding, but when you understand what it means and represents you get a whole new feel for differentiating. =D

Hmm should i take the time to do this.....

Also I had a question once, (not using the substitution method) but it was on this very important test, and i took me an entire page of work, and I never got the results for that test, so I don't know if i got it right.... but I did find out that I passed it today :p (took em all summer to tell me :( and they didn't even tell me, I found out indirectly by finding out what math class I'm in, but anywho)

I think I'll try to solve it to make sure you're correct ;)

EDIT: I voted *sigh* eureka because why not, and, this problem gonna take too much time so, good for you for solving it! but I don't think I shall attempt it. :3
