Also, being a town doesnt give us really anything we dont have. we can lock our chests with dirt like in old smp.

Having an official town allows the protection of chests using worldguard or some type of chest protection I believe, and it becomes un-griefable too.

yeah, but we're in PvE anyways, it's already non-grief.
Besides, I'm stuck at spawn with one heart, no food, and almost out of hunger. I seriously suck at staying alive

People can grief, but aren't allowed to.
With the official town only true members will be able to edit anything in the town.

Also for the record, people are allowed to make threads about their town, official or not.
I will just ensure that the official towns will be marked here as official towns.

The staff is working on a quite lot of guides, and as well an information thread about towns.

Funnily enough, that was the only walk I have tried out before server release as player.
I did survive without any food or resources, and came there with half a heart due to mobs and fully hungry.

I made it near ostia. No problems beyond my axe hitting me for 6 hearts.

I traveled to Castra with full health. Not quite as far a Ostia but still a long distance.
