i. Problem
We need some kind of map rating in-game. Currently, we have no reliable way of knowing which maps are good and which aren’t, except by creating a Community-Voted Map Rotation (which takes a long time to set-up and takes almost just as long to fill in for players) or asking players directly. It would be nice to have a semi-automated, constantly updated view of what players think of maps—through in-game map ratings.
ii. Proposition
This has been suggested before in the past, and the logistics of how it would work were discussed in that thread. I was thinking that it could go like this—A vote message shows up after the round ends:
[INFO] How did you like the previous map? Dislike – Neutral – Like
Where each option would be clickable. These results could then be used to constantly review the current map rotation. A map rating, based on this, could be displayed next to a map (or on hover) in the map voting. Would probably be a good idea to wipe any votes older than 6 months or so to ensure that the rating remains “fresh”—with current RoF in mind.
Thoughts?
