So how was your 2014 Blocktopia-wise?
How does it compare to earlier years?

2011/first quarter of 2012 was most fun for me because there was a lot of cool friendly and hot people playing Classic Lava/SMP - like usually 30 - 35 people on CLS and 30 - >70 on Primordia (Morning - Evening for me, night - midday for US)
Also I was new back then, so it all was fresh.

As for of 2014... well Canada. Ice Age.

January: What happened to fire on first week of DoD? Also yay AT
February and March - nothing important.
April - yay Infection.
Rest of year - *yyaaaaawwnnnnn*
Also yay prestige on RoF and Overhaul

Blocktopia (Former TheOne) was launched on ?? {well let set it on 24th +-week) July 2009. It happened after 17th July and before August.
First MC update with Theone being already here happened 11st August 2009.

It was created 2 months and 2+-1 week after first version of Minecraft was out.
Also its pure coincidence to be this day Friday... unless Friday recaps are that old tradition.

Blocktopia seems to have four eras:
TheOne Era: Founding of Blocktopia to name change. 24/07/2009-2/12/2010
Classic Era: Name change to launch of Primordia. 3/12/2010-20/10/2011
Mixed Era: Launch of Primordia to shutdown of Classic. 21/10/2011-29/04/2013
Premium Era: Shutdown of classic to The Overhaul. 30/04/2013-late 2014/early 2015?
New Era: The Overhaul to ??? Probably somewhere in 2015
Primordia is landmark here, because it was much more resource and playerbase consuming server than earlier premium servers.

It is quite hard for me to say what were the best years for me. But I must say during the age of CZS 11-12 and Infection were the best for me.

When we shut down classic, that was my least favorite time.

EDIT: I totally forgot about Primodia. By far that was the most enjoyable and fun SMP I had ever played.

Wasn't here in 2011, but if I had been, that'd probably be the best for me as well. But instead I'll go with 2012, which was also pretty fun, Classic was still very much alive and I had loads of fun on CL and CZS.

Been here since 2011 and 2011-early 2012 was the best time for me, but 2011 would be the best year. Leading up to now, the years have been OKay, but never the same without Classic (specifically CTNT for me). I've become more attached to the community through staffing too.

The "Golden Age," as it's called, was by far the greatest year. Stumbled across this community then, where I met and made some pretty awesome friends. Got to play and staff on the classic zombie survival server with said friends, where I made a ton of wonderful memories and had some of the best moments/laughs ever shared.

This year, I kind of left. I mean, I lurk on the forums and very rarely visit the servers, but I'm definitely not as involved in the community as I once was. But that's life for ya. There's a point where you eventually move on, as most of my friends from here have done. (And man, I miss them.)

I only joined in December 2011 and the forums on Jan. 1st 2012 so I kinda missed out on 2011 anyway, so I'd say the best time was late (really late) 2011 and early 2012 was pretty fun, of course ZS sorta started screwing up in May 2012 and then it got even worse in October when the stats were lost so I'd say that's probably when it started to go downhill, for me anyway.

2012 has A&T 1, which I played a lot and had many great adventures in.
2013, I had more adventures, but it was even better because I started to know everyone.

My favorite Blocktopia year was probably the year JtE was around. It was fun, and it was like the best server for me :)

I started blocktopia classic (lava) around mid/late 2011- early 2012 and got premium a couple months before JtE began. It was pretty cool to meet up with friends from lava classic on RoF and whatnot, but then I paid full attention to JtE. It was a fun (sub-community? ) server where I began to fully enjoy Blocktopia and whatnot :). After that ended and DoD came up, I lingered around the first month or so before moving on to AoD. After a couple months of AoD ( I think by then it was middle of 2013?) I moved back to RoF for a small while( To get to that wonderful blue colored rank), and now I mostly roam around the forums -and you'll rarely see me online. I guess that's my story of my time at BT. I'm grateful for meeting wonderful and caring players that make me love this community every day! :D
