If you have played standard 1.9 pvp, you know about cooldowns on weapons and that every weapon has a different cooldown. Everyone has different opinions, but i find this a lot more fun.... than the aod way. Every weapon has the same cooldown! Why this is, i don't know.
Axes do more damage now on 1.9 but to make this even the MC people added the fact that is has a longer cooldown before a critical hit. On aod, it doesn't matter, every weapon has the same cooldown.
As far as i know aswell, the vote that was taken: http://escaperestart.com/forum/threads/army-of-darkness-and-minecraft-1-9.19342/ showed that the overwhelming majority wanted standard 1.9 pvp mechanics.
For all i know this is a bug and the guys are working on it but i strongly feel that aod wuld play a lot better with the standard mechanics.
I hope that standard 1.9 pvp gets added,
