You read that right! Atlantis is now hosting the very first official lottery on Journey to Elysium!
It is run by any and all Atlantian Citizens, and to play you must go through one of them.
Just come to Atlantis, grab an Atlantian, and buy a ticket. Easy as that!
But you may be wondering: How much are these fantastic tickets? How many are there? How many can I buy!? OH THE HUMANITY!
But don't worry! There is an answer to every question!
There are a total of 50 tickets, and they cost 5 Emeralds per ticket. Players are allowed to buy as many tickets as they want! Hell, buy them all!
Alternatively, tickets are being sold at 15 iron ingots per ticket as a first draw promotion. Prices will be raised to 30 iron ingots after the first draw!
After the meeting on Fridays, a number will be randomely selected and announced. The winner of the lottery will also be announced, and has until the following Monday evening to claim their reward.
If a prize goes unclaimed, or a ticket is drawn that no one has bought, the total pot will be moved over to the nexts weeks draw.
Please note that tickets bought will reset every week, so players will need to purchase new tickets after every draw.
If an Atlantian is not online, the lottery cannot be bought into, so be patient, one of us will be around eventually.
Please note that as a service, Atlantis will be taking a tax of 1/5 the total pot. So that winners will recieve 4/5 of the total winnings.
The winnings are the total amount of emeralds and iron that players have used to buy tickets.
For example, 10 tickets are bought at 5 emeralds a piece, making the pot total 50 emeralds. When a player wins this pot, they will recieve 40 emeralds, and Atlantis keeps 10.
You may be thinking that this is a scam, or a rip off but keep in mind, given that scenario, a player is still walking away with Eight Times the amount of emeralds they bought in for, and that is with only 1/5 of the total tickets bought!
The return is always in the players favour!
As an added fairness bounus, all citizens of Atlantis are not allowed to play the lottery, they are only there to run it. This will eliminate any and all accusations of being rigged.
As for the number draw, a program similar to a /roll will be used to determine the winning number.
Now stop reading this, and get on down to Atlantis before all the tickets are bought up!
