it's generally used sarcastically, both in a playful manner and to mock posters
but can also be used in a positive manner
somewhat like the optimistic rating, which is now neutral

I use it as kind of a "Ok, ok. That was good. Liking it just isn't good enough." I'm pretty sure that was its intended purpose.

And uh, idk. A lot of the ratings can be used sarcastically. It's all in context.
Though I just realized again that the ratings add up to a total score.
Which is kinda silly.
But eh, it depends on the person. I think it's used by a majority with sincerity.
Maybe we can follow Tumblr and make a gold star "You Tried" rating ehe

I think it should stay positive, I rarely use it sarcastically, although as it has been said, everything is rated in context.
