Name of map: ZibaTower
Author: Abelgpwnsyou & Daredevilke (Converted for AoD gameplay by Prizyms)
Size: Can't measure it due to Single Player Commands not being updated, I'd say the playable area is roughly 70x70.
Map boundary: I can't put it in dead-center atm, but Baker said he would do it for me.
Kits: Humans: Receptionist (Stone sword, 2 spider webs, 2 apples, leather boots), Guard (Stone sword, splash potion of slowness, chainmail chestplate), Tourist (Wooden sword, 4 bread, 2 sticks, leather chestplate, iron boots)
Hunters: Arsonist (2 fire charges, wooden sword, splash potion of harming) Brute (Iron sword, splash potion of strength, iron leggings), Criminal (Stone sword, chainmail leggings, splash potion of poison)
Random or choose kits?: Random

Notes: Desert is one of my favourite maps. It's very small and concentrates the action. For a small map, I looked to Battlefield 3's Close Quarters expansion, which contains 4 small 16-player maps. I was intending to actually build the map, but after some searches I found out that these people already made Ziba Tower. I took the map and edited the blocks to look normal without needing the UrbanCraft texture pack, along with adding chests and removing secret areas. I don't know where I should place the spawn, so I'll leave it up to you guys. No blocks should be breakable except fire and spider webs. The only placeable blocks should be fire and spider webs.

Looks promising! Downloading now.

What makes this map unique? It's a small close combat city-themed map. Enough said.

What does this map do well? The architecture is unique, and the layout offers many different paths while not breaking from the theme. The layout looks very well suited for AoD matches.

What are potential problems with this map? The only possible problems are players becoming unreachable or obtaining access to spots that are impossible to reach aside from glitch abuse. Keeping all the blocks unbreakable (except for spiderwebs etc) should avoid this, and kicking/banning repeat offenders will help avoid this even further ;) .

How balanced are the items in the kits and the chests? Chests mostly contain bits of food, leather gear, and a few wooden tools. I don't have noclip right now thanks to single player commands not updating yet, but everything looked in order.

Kits offer some flavor while not overpowering either side. As a warning we do see a few complaints about splash poison potions. If they prove to be overpowered in comparison to the rest of the gear, then they will be replaced with something else.

Please confirm that there are no enderpearls available on the map. Otherwise players may ender to the portion of the ground contained in the square border and camp there for the duration of the round.

Suggested Changes: There is a spot on the roof that can trap players. Please add a ladder so that they may climb back up.



This is minor of course, and players will learn very quickly not to camp there after burning from anticamp a few times.

Verdict: The map looks good to me, worthy of a trial run at the very least even without the one requested change. If the map is accepted, I'll create a configuration file. +1

Overall the map looks really cool, I think it would be fun to play on the server. :)

I had a look at the screenshots (as FileSmelt seemed to be offline)so I had to go with what I could see. I thought the map looked quite similar as Desert in gameplay - The small rooms and corridors will 'encourage' mêlée fighting while the outdoor space will allow enough room to fight at range.

Guin highlighted the main problems that could occur, and the kits seem well balenced.

Overall the map looks good.
I would like to see how it does after implemention.

I believe I was watching Prizyms make this on BB once, so if that is the right map. I think it does make the game better for lower player counts and also, when higher player counts it makes the fighting more faster and exciting! But other then that Guin said most of what I would have said, so it's a +1 from me!
