Declined [Suggestion] Furnace thing

I'm not sure if this is a thing yet, but we could perhaps have lava blocks directly under furnaces to light them up as an alternative to fuel, since it makes sense that way. Alternatively, we could set it up such that with lava beneath a furnace, fuels will last longer - Coal will be able to smelt/cook 16 items instead of 8 for instance.

I don't like this suggestion. We don't need an alternative to fuel because fuel is infinite. People can create iron buckets and constantly refill those with the ever-returning lava-- meaning they never actually need to use coal or any other fuel. I would've liked something like this on a RoF in which fuel is not so easy to get, but as of right now I just think this doesn't have any actual use.

Yeah, it's not really needed. Buckets exist, it's not that hard to use one.
