Just wondering about other people’s music playlists. What are your favourite songs/bands/singers you’re listening too?

I'd link my Spotify playlist, but it has my full name. :( I can listen to just about anything, though I gravitate toward post-hardcore, progressive metal/rock, experimental metal/rock, some indie and alternative.

Specifically, I listen to Dance Gavin Dance, The Dear Hunter, Between the Buried and Me, Closure in Moscow, Royal Coda, and Tilian (DGD's lead singer's solo stuff). Linked some examples:

I wouldn't say that I have a singular favorite band though. Dance Gavin Dance would be pretty close, but I just like so much stuff so it's hard to make that claim.

some tracks from my favourite albums + some other random ones
shlohmo - places : bad vibes is a brilliant album, rocks a lo-fi aesthetic without sounding muted or dull

m83- unrecorded : dead cities, red seas and lost ghosts is a shoegazey post-rocky classic that i love to bits

king krule - out getting ribs : only just got into king krule but the first album (6 feet beneath the moon) is beautiful and i'm a huge fan

xxyyxx - never leave : another lo-fi aesthetic, xxyyxx's self-titled album is vv relaxed (you might have heard 'about you' before)

this will destroy you - burial on the presido banks : immense post-rock track, this one's my fav but TWDY's self-titled album is 100% good

rufus - innerbloom : not that obscure but it's a fantastic progressive electronic track, extremely spacey/relaxed

home - we're finally landing : my favourite from home, who're v well-known for their outrun-y sound. you're probably heard 'resonance' before

sorority noise - art school wannabe : noisy despresso rock shit, whole album (joy, departed) is gr8

clarence clarity - whose who can't, cheat : extremely glitzy off-kilter pop track; the album's pretty interesting, a lot of experimental stuff

superorganism - relax : super original quirky indie etc band, extremely unique sound. 'something for your m.i.n.d.' is probably their best track but relax is my favourite

y luv - keep it rollin : obscure indie rock band with a spacey groove to them, highly recommend their ep

lcd soundsystem - all my friends : lcd soundsystem has some absolute classics, this one's kind of a wistful slow burner

young empires - house lights : really smooth indie rock pop whatever type song, old favourite of mine. their whole discog. is pretty good imo

son lux - lost it to trying : huge brassy anthemic track, has some crazy cool instrumentation. son lux is cool

car seat headrest - sober to death : objectively good rock(?) band, v nice sound

_ensnare_ - expectations : really cool chiptune track from nervous_testpilot under another alias

grizfolk - hymnals (rac remix) : v nice & smooth house track. rac has some really high quality material

Also if you haven't heard it yet, here's Roger Waters' 2017 Album "Is This The Life We Really Want?"

Although I prefer albums, I got a few cheeky playlists here:

(the last one started out as grunge then kinda became a dump but I still use it occasionally)
