More donation options

I feel like there should be more options to donate. Personally, I refuse to use Paypal because it's one of the shittiest companies ever created and probably more evil than EA. (source). More options, e.g. paysafecard, bitcoin, VISA, or even SMS would probably make it a lot a lot easier to donate. I'd personally be able to donate using bitcoin, paysafecard & SMS, and I'm sure there's many other players who would like to donate but don't use Paypal- especially minors.

Bitcoin seems like a fine idea, will look into it. I'm not too sure how feasible it is considering I believe Paypal is what's used to manage the payments (correct me if I'm wrong here GmK ) and I'm not certain if a reliable, cost-effective Bitcoin to Paypal website exists since I haven't really dabbled in Bitcoin too much. Though I do see why you may want other options and hopefully we can make that available.

As for the other options I'm questioning how much they'll see use or whether we really need to accept payments by SMS message or the others. I can also see some trouble coming out of that when a naive kid decides to donate 50$ to us from his parent's phone bill. Though I digress - I'll take a look and get back to you.

Bitcoin we could offer, but it would not register on the automatic forum system, I'd have to manually give those people theor forum badge and so on (that's no issue, easily done).

Not so sure about the others, since we're no company there are some issues about using paysafecard, etc.

You could use paymentwall.com. It has paysafecard and SMS and credit card and bank transfer and e-wallet etc as an option, among many others. I know it can be used for donations, as optifine uses it.

I have always found paypal easy to use, but the problem I see with it is that you should be 18 to use it, and a large amount of our members is not 18.

I cant really see an issue having other payment methods, maybe a bit odd with it not being added to the donation bar, but eh.

Great to see that other donation options are being considered since we are not exactly filling donations at the first day atm.

Sorry for the bump, but I was wondering if any kind of decision has been made about this? Any plans to add more donation options (for example using paymentwall)?

I know this is a bit late for a suggestion but consider using IDeal? I find it easy to use (easier then PayPal) and it's safe (since it has a password protection and SMS protection)

I was going to make a thread about this but then realized I already suggested this two years ago. So, bump. Any plans on reconsidering this? I still think it's a bit ridiculous that ESC only accepts PayPal for donations.
