Ideas for Blocktopia NEW SERVERS AND STUFF!!!!

So i have come up with Ideas to get the server up to about 150 people to be on Blocktopia!!! Not just old people that come in everyday, I mean this could be huge, So first Rituals Of Fire, AoD and Journey to Esylium are kinda confusing servers, good ideas of servers but I dont see any other servers like that, So we should make some popular servers, Like first off ill start with hunger games

Hunger Games- We could have 10 arenas of hunger games to start with, if you win you can get money and stuff, I bet ya 100 people on this server DAILY!!!!
Mob Arenas- I've been on this Mob Arenas server a lot lately and It usually has about 190 on the weekends to 130-100 on weekdays, so we should add a mob arena server, every time you kill a mob then you get money, depends which mobs are harder to kill, with kits
PVP, Capture the Flag ect.- So A PVP server would be great, everyone loves a good PVP, I bet we could get 130 on the server Daily, for capture the flag or search and destroy, 120 daily,

So we could take a break for Jte, Rof and AoD and put the new stuff in for about two weeks and see how it goes, and rename Blocktopia in the Minecraft page, Blocktopia Mini Games or Blocktopia COOL SERVERS 24/7

So what do you guys think, dont turn me down its just an idea :)

They do seem like great ideas, the problem is that it'll take up a lot more money, and people will have to donate more money to help up run the servers. It does seem like a good idea though .(Just to note, I don't know much about the servers payment and everything, so..)

Honestly, I think we should host a tekkit server. There are so many mediocre tekkit server's on the "tekkit masterlist" that don't support players or even have active staff, and I'm sure we could pull it off nicely. Also, I'm fairly sure we have a large in-community group that would like a tekkit server, me included.

We required more when classic was up. To get more money you need more people, to get more people you need advertisement and servers.

I've looked at different servers and have liked several ideas. There is actually a zombie server where you go to different maps and you kill different waves of zombies, each round is tougher obviously. You rank up with experience and get better items as you level up to live longer. The ideas out there for a server are endless and I don't see why people aren't being more open minded about these ideas.

But who am I to talk, I don't donate and I don't play in this community much anymore.

I'm confused if you're saying to get rid of RoF, AoD and Jte to make room for your ideas? Or are you saying to shut them down for a few weeks?

I honestly like the idea of a tekkit server and a hunger games server.

Though we had a hunger games server before and from what I have heard they didn't want to keep it because of how many other hunger game servers there are.
(and it was only temporary anywho)

Mob Arena- Sounds sort of boring, couldn't you just go on Jte into a dark room and have a mob arena?

Also PVP server-AoD.

I actually like the mob arena idea. You could have a money and level system, where you unlock more items every level. Maybe there could even be some plugins (not sure if that is right) installed to make new and fun weapons.

I do however realize this is very unlikely, due to the amount of time and effort it would take.

She has a point. And some of them are top-notch. It'd be very difficult to compete.

Part of the charm behind RoF, AoD, and JtE is that they're not like other servers. That's one of their pluses. And you want them eliminated on that, and that you think they're confusing, when the three are pretty simple.
RoF: Make a shelter, communicate with people.
AoD: Kill everything not on your team.
JtE: Survive and prosper.

Now, your suggestions.
"Hunger Games" servers are overdone to hell. You can find a million of them with a Google search.
You can set up a darkroom on JtE and have a Mob Arena.
We don't need a PvP server, that niche is mostly filled by AoD. Similarly, PTNT fills the CtF niche.

Removing the servers would be pointless and would effect the community more in a bad way then good.

Honestly, 150+ people don't just show up. It takes hard advertising usually and getting the name around.

Quite frankly, I don't think we should have our eyes focused on Minecraft any more. There are so many popular games that can be a possibility for a community to play. I think the servers for Minecraft that Blocktopia already hosts are enough.

Another major possibility for a game is CubeWorld. (http://wollay.blogspot.com/) I've already shown Deadl0ck this and he said this might be interesting and something to look into.

Moreover, if Blocktopia decides to stick solely to Minecraft, I believe our priorities should be marketing/advertising first instead of creating new servers.

I was literally thinking about suggesting moving to CubeWorld when MC eventually dies out.


Anyways on the idea, I feel its just more bandwagoning onto what tons of servers have done just get more people. I feel we'll get people that want to stay and go on all the servers if we keep our creative servers, not just one of the 100's of HG servers ect.

We also don't have that much DEVs. Yes, they are skilled, but they don't find importance in such quick event maps. HG is overly done, we have a bad rep with those globally banned (their fault) and they moved to much larger communities, and with that, focusing the staff and resources is a bit counter-intuitive.

Yes, we can have a server dedicated to HG, but I don't see it happening with 150+ players onboard. We don't offer an incentive for donations (good, because we don't have whiny people asking for OP things) which makes a more personal community where everyone can respect others opinions, but at the disadvantage of larger and more controllable bandwidth. It's joy to be playing a respected minigame in MC, but the time and resources, as said by others, is just wasted.

That doesn't mean the other servers are not options. Not interested in them? Pull the staff together on something that will be a great idea, with extremely convincing evidence. Small talk isn't going to cut it, but you're going to need an overwhelming support behind your cause.

I like the idea of gathering skilled people, but you do realize that we're all limited by timezones and intentions. It is great that we have such an excellent community, but it's just too hard to explain briefly.

RoF - It's one of the most popular servers we have, it's fun and the basic idea is really simple. Make a shelter and don't touch lava.
JtE - It's a regular survival server. I have no idea what you're talking about when you say it's confusing and hasn't been done.
AoD - PvP

Your suggestions:
HG - I enjoy Hunger Games, but honestly, I don't see the point of bringing it to Blocktopia. It's been done so many times, and some HG servers are specialized on just HG with 500+ players constantly online, so it'll be very hard to compete and it would probably die quickly. Besides, it could just be held as an event at JtE.
Mob Arena - I kinda like this idea, but I just can't see it as a separate server. Perhaps a special mode at AoD?
PvP - AoD
CTF - TNT

About the Tekkit server, this is a really nice idea and I think we could pull it off. Maybe FTB instead of Tekkit, but I don't care either way.

And AOD is hunters vs survivors, you'd have to add mobs in there aswell..

Mob VS Man in TNT and darkrooms in JtE. Could it work as gamemode in AoD.

Capture of Flag is part of TNT, and AoD is basically PvP. TNT has it too.

If we stopped being "unmodded minecraft" community, we could expand into Tekkit.
We also can expand into Cube World and Starbound.

Tekkit! Good Idea Tuna ! I always thought a Hunger Games server would be good, because it's so popular and would attract people if we got more popular! I do agree about cost though, but we do have already 4 premium servers, maybe 5-6 would be a bit much.

I had a look myself into Cube World, I absolutly can't wait for it. It looks amazing. (back on topic) I think there is no real need for any new servers as off this moment. (+ It would cost the community some money to set them up and keep them running.) The servers we have now are awesome and rocking.

Like mikey said I don't think we should focus on minecraft when they're are many other great games out there. Also if we have any more servers I'd like A&t if it would work.

As stated above multiple times we already have servers that support those things and those servers are running well, there is no need to make new ones.
It would be a good idea if you where going to start your own community, however, this community is what it is, and it's amazing how it is, it needs no major change.
