I love this server, so I thought I'd pop off a few suggestions for Create! to just improve the server overall. Here they are =)


More "direct" staff requirements:

Nowhere do we have any reqs for staff at all. Not even an /ontime requirement. I believe we should hae a forum post somewhere stating the requirements for being a Staff Member on create. I'd suggest to at least have an /ontime requirement, and maybe a builder rank also? It is a creative server, and staff should have a somewhat good idea of what is a good build / what isn't. I also suggest maybe possibly having a requirement for current staff for a certain ontime per week or month, or they will be demoted. (Unless given a notice ofc).

Clearing up FlatLand:


As you can see, there are some builds that just make FlatLand look somewhat messy. I think staff should go through it and possibly delete old builds / builds that take up space and are useless like the ones i showed. I think this should be a thing that happens maybe every 4-5 months, just to keep the place looking nice and spiffy. We could also find grief this way =)

Looking at Plots:

We have a lot of plots that are just.. empty. I think staff should go through and maybe delete all the plots that are a certain age, and are empty, so we can keep space up. Flying through builder plots, I notice a lot of empty plots.

*Cough* Terrain World *coughcough*

Rules:

Our rules are pretty much fine, but I have a couple kinks I'd like to mention. For one, our politics rules. People ask about the rule, and we just say its ignored. Lets just remove the rule, and maybe in its place put "Please keep all discussions civil". I'd also like to add a rule about being Courteous with World Edit / VS. Sure its common knowledge to most, but some players are very new to WE when joining. I believe we should also add in something about Homophobic / Transgender stuff, to make it clear as possible we dont accept people cutting down others =) Also possibly mention the use of gadgets, and how some can be abused, and if they will actions will be taken.

Plugins:

I have two plugins to recommend.
https://mods.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/simple-rename - Easy tool to rename stuff, with other commands, and supports colors. IT could be useful for map makers, or people who like to decorate. (Builder+ Only?)

(Looks like this plugin is outdated, thanks Psycho. Im going to keep it, in case someone can find an equivalent or maybe someone can whip something up)
https://mods.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/portable-crafting - Portable Crafting. Out of anything, this is what I really REALLY want. I hate having to go to a crafting table to do leather armours. It's a lightweight plugin, and I think it would be a great addition. It also has an enchantment table! I saw this mentioned once, but it was shot down pretty quickly. I hope maybe this time can be different =)

These are some good ideas, but I'll just go through them and put my opinions in.

Staff Requirements:
I don't think there's much need really - we can tell who is suitable for mod and who isn't, and it's not like we're getting a flood of noobs in saying "plz give me mod i come from pmc" at the moment. If that happens, we might have to, but for now I don't think we need to worry about this for now.

Clearing up Flatland:
This is good, and we've talk about this in chat every now and then. We used to enforce the Tartan Rule, so any incomplete builds/weird bunches of blocks would be removed - perhaps we should go through and get rid of stuff that's unneeded. Seeing as all the maps got broken, we can move all maps to the map world now without consequences. It would be good to get some more space. However, we have FlatOne, which was always going to be the replacement for Flatland - we could change plans and make it so we have both, but that might be confusing. I'm not sure.

Clearing up BPlots & editing rules:
Also good ideas, not much to say. I fully agree.

Terrain World:
We used to have Terra for Specialist+, no idea where that went. Looks like it's unloaded. #bringbackterra

Plugins:
We already have NBTEditor's /nbtitem command that can handle SimpleRename's features - perhaps we could give it an alias in commands.yml to make it more obvious? The PortableCrafting plugin would be rather nice though, I like the sound of that.

I didn't know about the NBT editor, isn't that only for Mods? I thought people were making crazy overpowered stuff with it or something like that.

I agree, we dont have people applying for staff, but I have talked to a couple of Novices asking about staff, and I honestly had no idea what to tell them about reqs, I just told them that they should be active and helpful, and thats really all I could give to them.

The plugin has commands like /nbtpotion and /nbtenchant that can be used to make OP things, but /nbtitem won't do much harm. https://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/nbteditor/pages/documentation/commands/#w-nbtitem

I'd be willing to bet that Terra only needs /mv loading and it'd be fine. I think it might have only been disabled because of Dynmap going mad with rendering other worlds, but Dynmap has had time to recover and should be fine now. #terraorriot
