Looking for a F2P game which:
Is NOT online.
Preferably a Text-based game
Not a Fighting game

Games like that are hard to find...
Well, that's less F2P and more... Singleplayer. :p

The definition of F2P I'm going for is "An multiplayer online game that does not require a payment in order to basically play. Usually includes Freemium benefits."

But, people have been here posting singleplayer games, so...

What exactly do you mean by text-based?
A text-based game is a game with no to barely any graphics.
You perform actions by typing in commands via a console.
Text will appear on the screen describing what you've just done.

For example.

you type in "Look around"
Text on the screen will say
"You are in a room with a key on the ground"
You type in "Pick up key"
Text on the screen will say
"The key has been added to your inventory"
You type in "Use key on door"
Text on the screen will say
"The door opened"

Ah, you mean text adventures. I was thinking along the lines of "Typing of the Dead."

I remember seeing one on Neopets before.

There's also one in Computer Craft, a mod for Minecraft.

Not to mention this one series I can't remember the name of too well, but has "no tea" in it, which Computer Craft references.

I ALMOST accidentally clicked report instead of reply. wooops

I know the one in computer craft. It is activated by typing "Adventure" in the console.
But what in the heck is Neopets?

Right, let's put this out there just in case this hasn't been shown yet. (If it has, sorry!)

I know that most of our Blocktopian members know Attack On Titan, or Shingeki-no-Kyojin. Well, guess what? This nice guy, Feng Lee, has recently made a tribute game of AoT! With 3D mechanics, good graphics, and amazing moves, this game is completely addicting! :D (You can probably guess I'm already no-lifing it while my connection fails) Anyway, here's the link: http://fenglee.com/game/aog/

How hasn't anyone mentioned Black Mesa: Source on here yet? Wikipedia article on it
Black Mesa Source is coming to Steam for real Moneydollars. Even tough the BMS will stay completely supported.
BMS Is a remake of the best-seller 1999 game Half-Life, BMS Is the opposite of what you'd expect from a fan made mod, You can download BMS for free on their site, ill repeat it: www.blackmesasource.com. All that is required is Source SDK 2007 which is downloadable in steam for FREE
Aside from the Flare in the beginning Black Mesa Source does not add any new weapons or enemies.
Levels have been reconstructed and some entirely new areas have been added. The gem even has its own soundtrack that doesn't sound like a gerbil going nuts on a piano. BMS Is definitely something worth trying for them FPS Gamers who have never played (Who?) or want to re-play Half-Life

Gods Will Be Watching...
This is a neat little game I discovered through Youtube viewing.
It's currently in development to become a full-fledged game; this is merely a demonstration on what it'll be like!
I must say, it's fun, but extreeeeeeeeeeeemly challenging and engaging. I'm certain unless you've played it before or just do random things, you'll probably not make it past the first night. :p
Basically you get 5 actions to do things. You have to manage food supply, fixing a radio, all of your team's sanity, and deadly disease, all over the course of 40 days. Should someone die, run away, or fall ill to the disease, then you loose 1 action point for that day.
Have fun!

don't know if anyone has said this yet, but War Thunder is a really good WWII fighter and bomber plane game that is free! Look it up, it's addicting :D

I got into this one recently, it's still in Open Beta but it's pretty fun to bomb enemy tanks or kill planes in a few shots :p
or extremely frustrating when you crash into a mountain
