Took a while to finish this one, but I finally got to make a map with named items, corner stair blocks, custom potions, and all of those other exciting new-ish additions. Glee!
I almost included some of the 1.5 blocks, but sadly they didn't fit the theme whatsoever so I gave up trying.
Name of map: Reverence
Author: Guinessis
Size: 100 x 100
Map boundary: Center is at 0, 0, and the corners are at 50,50 and -50,-50.
Height limit is 80.
Kits: Trying out the new options... hopefully there aren't any typos. It appeared to parse correctly.
Earthshaper is a bit of a new idea - able to immediately destroy blocks similar to classic Zombie.
Reverence is divided into two major sections: Terrain and Conservatory. We'll start with the terrain.
The terrain is divided into platforms with connecting stairs. This should make gameplay a bit more interesting than running around in circles outside, as players will be funneled through the chokepoints. The stone walls are a bit ugly, but I felt that they kept things simple.
There are several landmarks in the terrain area, including the Sanctuary, Spire, Expedition, Mercenaries, and Loggers.
The plateaus are connected via bridges, ladders, and staircases. Some places definitely have strategic advantages, but the hunter kits are designed to counter these.
There are several portals between the two regions such as this central one here. The buildings also contain paths between the conservatory and the terrain.
The conservatory contains a central large room with winding pathways all along the outside. Most of the pathways are highly visible with bits of cover.
Details of one of the pathways.
Notes: The overall theme of reverence is a sanctuary with shrines to various gods (Defiler, Earthtender, Windwalker, the Ancients, etc). Each god has a specialized kit of armor, as well as a "Blessing."
These "Blessings" are custom potions (that will hopefully work on the server). One example is the "Blessing of the Grove" This grants the user 10 minutes of Regeneration I, but at the cost of 10 minutes of Slowness II. Each Blessing changes how the user will play the game. There is no iron in the map, so no drinking milk to cancel the Blessings. Think about it before you drink it.
My personal favorite is the Twisted Gift. The user becomes immortal for 30 seconds (Strength III, Regen III, Resistance III), but will die shortly afterwards (Wither I for 10 minutes). Think of it as a last stand.
Another is the Sanctuary of the Roaring Earth, which applies Resistance IV, Regeneration IV, Slowness IV, and Blindness IV for 30 seconds. It's essentially a defensive or stall tactic.
TNT DAMAGE ON
Hunters have Invisibility so you cannot see their nameplates, just the pumpkins, as well as Swiftness I and no fall damage. In return, their kits do not contain much armor.
